2011 Michigan Scholastic Team Championship

12 November, 2011

Thirteen Windsor players, mostly from the Friday Knights, went to Michigan for the 2011 Scholastic Team Championships. Our teams won second in K-8, fifth in K-5 and 7th in K-3 despite not having as full a complement of players as many of the other teams.

We had five out of the thirteen kids finish with perfect 5-0 scores and win the title of co-champion.

  • Shaumik Baki K-8
  • Jeremy Matthews K-8
  • Zhehai Zhang K-5
  • Jeannie Zhang K-3
  • Rohan Talukdar K-3

Joshua Mathews finished 4-1 after blundering a queen in one game but playing solid otherwise and got a big trophy for his efforts. Lily Zhou finished 3.5/5 I believe after drawing her last game but not sure on that. I believe that Yoyo finished with 3/5 but am not sure. Erica had 2.5/5 but could just as easily have had 5/5 as she was better or winning at some point in every game. Dilpreet Chana also finished on 2.5 in the K-8 section.

Jack Li, Jie Hu and Emily Deng I believe finished with 2/5 though I may be off by half a point on Jie.
